One to book for Pressure Drop Paddy? Next year is the 30th Anniversary of Dexy's Midnight Runners first album Searching For The Young Soul Rebels. To this day it is still highly ranked as an all time great. With that in mind, our 12 piece outfit, Dexys Bootleg Runners, are planning to tour as many towns and cities, the length and breadth of Britain, and hopefully some in Europe, commemorating that brilliant album and re-enacting the brilliant material from it. We will also be covering all the other material that Dexy's done around that time, including their B-Sides, Northern Soul covers and stuff that never got to press. As an extra, we will also be adding on the usual favourites from Dexy's. This year we have played some great venues, festivals, rallies and one off gigs. We have impressed huge audiences, who couldn't believe how good we are, and how original we sound. Ex-Dexy's keyboard player Micky Billingham, who made a guest appearance for us in the Midlands, described us as, 'Better than the original line-ups'. Real Radio said, 'Absolutely brillaint. You must go and see them'. We have been asked to play quite a few venues, festivals, rallies etc next year, but right now we want to try and hook up as many as we can, before we co-ordinate a plan of action. If you are interested in lining us up at your venue/event, or know anyone who might, and have dates in mind, please let us know asap? Cheers, Oz - Dexys Bootleg Runners www.myspace.com/dexysbootlegrunners

Paddy! Did you ever get round to asking if Dr Browns want to book Dexys Bootleg Runners? It's just that their lead singer Oz was asking me the other week. I'm sure they'd get a big crowd in that night and it will be far better than the rock bands they normally put on.

I tried to sort something at the Georgian Theatre but go no feedback at all Leave it with me Baz, I'll have a word with Doc Browns, can you PM me what sort of money they would be looking for? They wouldn't give me a set price Paddy. Just said that as long as they aren't out of pocket they try to play most gigs.

OK I'll see what Doc Browns have to say Did Dr Browns ever get back to you about putting on Dexys Bootleg Runners? I was in Birmingham last weekend and a few members from Dexys Midnight Runners 1st line up were doing a gig to celebrate 30 years of 'Searching For The Young Soul Rebels'. I couldn't make the gig even though I was in Birmingham as I was DJing at the Mid-Summer Modness event. But in my DJ set I did include Dexys 'Seven Days Too Long' and The Bureau's 'Let Him Have It'. Someone even asked me who the band were just after I played The Bureau, I think their exact words were "Who was that band you've just played who sounded like early Dexys?"
