Thought I'd stick an introductions thread on here to get to know everyone a bit better. Well, I'll start. I'm Bazza, 38 years old and live in Boro. Been in Boro most my life except for 3 1/2 years in Libya and a year in Iran. Been going to Pressure Drop now since it started and have so far been to them all, even DJ'd at a few. I'm a geek when it comes to music (or so I've been told) whether it's DJing, writing about it (used to do the modzine All Our Yesterdays), going to gigs or playing gigs myself. Also love scooters and have owned 5 Vespas over the years and currently own a Bajaj Chetak which is in bits ready to spray. Have been playing in bands now since I was 15 and played my first full gig on 4th October 1986. I can remember the date as it was also my 16th Birthday! Over the years I've played with the ska band G Men, powerpop bands The Alternative and Afterglow, studio band The Che Men and garage/psych band Thee Strawberry Mynde. Played loads of gigs over the years including support slots with The Selecter, Geno Washington & 100 Men and have released a few records. Even have my own record label which has so far released a 10 inch EP and 2 CD compilation albums. Also love to DJ. Last year I even got my own weekly club Satisfaction which ran for 19 weeks at The Piper in Redcar. I do a monthly internet show for Mod Radio UK and do the odd guest DJ spot at Pressure Drop.

been watchin for a while on here.great website been to a couple of nights till it got changed to a friday as i work on a friday night.was at mml, great day(i was the lad in the specials t-shirt for which i had many comments about).i am a ska man including 2-tone for which i will make no apology for,and its good to see people like paddy and bazza trying to get something going in middlesbrough and im all for it.im 38 lived in boro for 20 years now, originally from scotland where i got into ska at the age of 13 where as all my mates were punks, mods but very few skins, rude boys etc.moved to london aged 14 still listened to my beloved ska, mainly in my own bedroom till i left school.in the late 80s early 90s when their was a bit of a ska revival i was in about it all seeing bands like the loafers, potato 5 feat.laurel aitken(in my own opininion the other way round),maroon town, napolean solo at such venues as the astoria and the infamous sir george robey in islington.all these years later its brilliant that ska is still alive and well in middlesbrough and long may it continue.i am honoured to be part of this website, even though their is differing views we all have a common love and long may it continue.

Causes problems for me especially this Boxing Day as I'll be at Pressure Drop while my girlfriend Charlie will be at Marton Country Club as she prefers Northern Soul over Ska. We don't play enough 70s Northern for her at Pressure Drop.
