The Specials - Free CD

The Times are giving away a free Live CD of The Specials this weekend (Sunday 12th July). The CD was recorded at the Brixton Academy during their recent "cashing in" tour. More info here -

Dont blame em for cashing in, considering they made fuckall first time round.

I got the free Specials CD today with The Times. The newsagents even gave me another copy of the CD which I passed onto Andy SpannerMonkey.

One thing I did notice about the CD though was that Lloyd Charmers doesn't get a song writing credit on 'Too Much Too Young' when he did on The Specials debut album & live EP. After all 'Too much Too Young' "borrows" heavily from Lloyd Charmers song 'Birth Control'. Also the magazine that came with the paper states that The Specials split after a Top Of The Pops appearance when I always thought it was during an American tour. Terry Hall states in the mag that the door is always open for Jerry Dammers to re-join while 3 other members say that they don't want him in the band.
