Following on from 'Studio One Ska Fever!' comes the latest release from Soul Jazz Records - 'Studio One Rocksteady'. Rocksteady replaced ska in Jamaica from 1966 but was only around for 2 years before itself giving way to reggae. Featuring an all-star selection of artists: Ken Boothe, Marcia Griffiths, Jackie Mittoo, The Heptones, John Holt, Alton Ellis, Dennis Brown, etc this is one release not to be missed! As with all Soul Jazz Records the sound quality on this comp is second to none. Soul Jazz Records 'Studio One Rocksteady' is released on 3rd February 2014 on CD and comes with a 16-page booklet with excellent sleeve notes by Lloyd Bradley author of the classic book 'Bass Culture - When Reggae Was King' .The compilation is also coming out on a heavyweight double-vinyl edition in a gatefold sleeve.
