Pressure Drop - Feedback & Views Wanted

Back on Friday 15th May 2009 Paddy started the Pressure Drop night back up at Dr Browns. The night had originally began back in 2005 and ran for a few months before been knocked on the head. This time round though the night has gone really well or at least I think it has anyway.

But I'd like to hear other peoples views about the night. Would you like to see anything changed? Any problems that need looking at? Or are you all happy with the night left as it is?



Pressure Drop CD
Paddy & I were thinking of putting together another pressure Drop CD in May to mark the 1st anniversary since starting back up. A bit like the CD we put out at the Boxing Day Pressure Drop. What did you think of the last CD? As I've had very little feedback on the disc and what feedback I did get was split 50/50. Some liked it while others weren't so keen on the tracks chosen.

Guest DJ's/Music
A good thing or bad? Monty & myself are more or less regulars at the club these days but what about the other guest DJ's? We had the likes of Graham 'Chopper' Craddy, Andy Vella, Wally Francis and Rory Kelly all doing DJ spots at the club. Would you like to see more guest DJ's at Pressure Drop ? Have we got the right mix of music at Pressure Drop? Or woud you rather hear more Soul than Ska?

The Venue
What do you think of the upstairs room at Dr Browns? Is it the right size for the club or have we outgrown it? Would you like to see us move to another venue or do you just think that Dr Browns just need to splash out on a bit of paint and have a tidy up and get a hand dryer in the loos? Would you like to see the upstairs bar open? If you'd like to see us move any suggestions on a new venue?

Pressure Drop night
Is everyone happy with Pressure Drop been on a Friday night? Also what do you think about it been on every 2 weeks? Should it stay like it is or would you rather see it go weekly or even monthly? Also Paddy was once talking about taking Pressure Drop to other town/cities sort of like a mobile sound system. Would anyone like to see Pressure Drop come to their town/city?

Website/Forum
Is the website/forum worth keeping open? Or do you just find out your info on Pressure Drop through Facebook & MySpace?

Seems that everyone is happy with the way things are since no one has bothered to reply. Anyway, here are my thoughts


Pressure Drop CD
Thought that the Boxing Day CD was good a raised money for charity but it's proably best left as a one off. Besides Paddy & myself don't want to give our best tunes away as you lot would all stay at home to listen to the CD rather than come to Pressure Drop!

Guest DJ's/Music
Of couse it's a good thing! I'd like to see a guest DJ on at every Pressure Drop. Would also like to hear more Soul and R&B played too and Rocksteady. Oh and less 2 Tone!

The Venue
I think that the venue is great! Paddy loves it too and is more than happy to turn up early when Pressure Drop is on to clean the upstairs room up helping Dr Browns save money as they don't need to employ a cleaner. I also think that it's a good idea to keep the upstairs bar shut as I feel that a lot of Pressure Drop regulars could do with a bit of exercise and walking down & up those stairs all night can only be good for you in the long run.


Pressure Drop night
I think every 2 weeks is spot on. If it did go weekly I think it woud probably kill the night off as Dr Browns isn't the cheapest boozer in town!


Website/Forum
Is the website/forum worth keeping open? Probably not with everyone prefering to use Facebook these days. The website URL - www.pressuredrop.info is up for renewal in a month or two but I might be better off saving my money. After all with the 10% tax rise on cider I'm going to need all my pennies!
